An alumni of the School of International Studies of Jawaharlal Nehru University, Dr Jagannath P. Panda is Research Fellow and head of the East Asia Centre at the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA), New Delhi.

Dr. Panda is the first South Asian scholar to receive the prestigious East Asia Institute (EAI) fellowship for the year 2016. He is the author of the forthcoming book India-China Relations: Politics of Resources, Identity and Authority in a Multipolar World Order (Routledge, 2016).
The East Asia Centre is dedicated to study and research the domestic and foreign policy of China, Japan and Korea and India’s multifaceted relationship with the region and countries of the region. It also focuses on Taiwan, Hong Kong, and the broader geopolitics of the Asia Pacific, and publishes a bimonthly newsletter, East Asia Monitor. Dr Panda’s field of expertise includes Sino-India Relations, Asia-Pacific Power Transition, Asia’s Multilateral Politics, PLA and China‘s South Asia Relations.

The round table will be held in English and hosted by Dr. Jean-Luc Racine, Senior Fellow, Asia Centre.
